OTTAWA, ON, Feb. 24, 2026 /CNW/ - Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) will release its new Housing Affordability Composite Index (HACI) on Wednesday, Feb 25 at 10:00 AM ET.

In his analysis of the first HACI results, CMHC's Chief Economist, Mathieu Laberge looks at affordability trends for seven major centres:  Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, and Halifax, and shares how the HACI provides valuable insights into homeownership and rental markets in these centres.
